NAME: The Doctor
CANON: Doctor Who
AGE: 2000+
CANON POINT: 1105 The Tsuranga Conundrum

HISTORY: link
PERSONALITY:
Laugh hard, run fast and be kind. Those were the last words that the previous incarnation of the Doctor said, a message to give to his future regeneration to make sure that they 'got it right'. These are words that this incarnation held fast to, even when she didn't yet know who she was or couldn't remember her name -- she knew that she always helped people when they called or were in trouble, that she was kind. As well as kind the Doctor is incredibly loyal, believing the best in the people around her, and defending those that she cares for or is protecting. Friendship is incredibly important to her. The Doctor knows, as she has experienced in many of her previous lives, that she is her best self when she has people around her. Though she must worry about their safety the Doctor also deeply trusts her friends to follow her rules and to know the boundaries.

Though she tries to see the best in people it doesn't stop her from being impulsive and acting without properly thinking. When thinking of something that she or her friends need the Doctor can be quite selfish. After being scooped up by the Tsuranga, the Doctor was determined that they needed to turn it around so she could go back for the TARDIS when there were other patients about that had destinations to be reached. When confronted about this the Doctor realised how selfish she was being and apologised for it, though it's a mistake she's made on multiple occasions. With a love of adventure and an almost childish excitement, the Doctor has a tendency to run into situations without fully assessing the dangers. Though she tries to keep her friends out of danger, telling them to stay back whilst she acts recklessly, it doesn't always work, causing her to have to rescue her friends, feeling incredibly guilty at the possibility of something happening to them.

Being an ancient being, one that is also incredibly intelligent, the Doctor is very comfortable with herself and confident in her abilities. Though each regeneration gives her something to adapt to, the quirks of her personality mildly adjusting, she has spent centuries knowing who she is, though has often needed reminding of that when something has gone wrong or a situation has left her control. Her confidence shines in both her words and her actions, with the Doctor figuring out how to solve dangerous situations on the spot, trusting that she'll be able to think of something and save the day before it's too late. It also helps her to keep a cool head under pressure, not letting danger get the best of her. Even when her friends are in trouble she manages to stay calm, finding herself even more determined to rescue everyone, though she can become more impulsive or reckless as the Doctor would do anything to protect those that she cares for.

Tied with her love of adventure is a curious attitude, an almost childlike curiosity at wanted to see and know as much as she can of the universe. The Doctor loves visiting new places, learning new customs and even more so really enjoys showing her friends the universe. Much of her joy comes from seeing things from a human perspective, by the excitement and wonder that her friends display on their adventures. Given how old she is and how much she has seen and experienced already in her life it could leave her jaded or bored. She chooses to combat this by trying to do new things, by enjoying life with her friends, and trying to appreciate and enjoy the things that they like, whilst sharing the many wonders of the universe with them.

For all her youthful exuberance the Doctor does have a darker side. She has a temper that, though she keeps at bay, appears whenever someone crosses a line or acts in a way that she strongly disagrees with, such as killing or using weapons. She makes promises, rather than threats, and is well known across the universe. Although the name Doctor means that people know they are going to get helps it leaves a fear in many species -- the Doctor has made numerous enemies during their long life, has defeated many armies and plans and will continue to do so as long as she lives.

She's also incredibly sacrificial. If the Doctor thinks that sacrificing her own life is the best course of action, if it will keep people safe and protected, if there is nothing else or better that she can do to save someone then she will risk her own life. It is something that her friends always fight against, often times offering to sacrifice themselves instead (seeing themselves as small when the Doctor can help so many more) and it is something that she hates, that other people put themselves before her. She has lived a long time, has seen many things which is why she should do it -- humans are good and special and should get the chance to live. It's something that, if someone does manage to beat her, to sacrifice themselves instead, she feels a lot of pain over.

The Doctor carries a lot of guilt with her. She has lost many people over her life -- friends, family, and loved ones, and it never settles well with her. Though she keeps adventuring with friends, letting them know that it is dangerous, that she cannot promise to keep them safe, the Doctor does everything that she can to make sure they can get home to their families. Though she has that goal in mind it doesn't ever mean she has forgotten about the risk, trying to give her friends the least dangerous tasks possible when they have to investigate. It isn't just her friends that the Doctor feels guilty about -- anyone that she meets, even if they have done wrong, is something that she will try to save and thus, should something happen to them, she will mourn their loss regardless of whether or not she knew them. The Doctor is against killing, putting all life on the same high standing, giving enemies the opportunity to leave with her warning, giving them a second chance rather than ending their life. Life is precious, something that cannot just be taken away. It's why, if someone has died (particularly someone that the Doctor is fond of), that she can sometimes become more reckless -- spurred on by that loss, a little hint of anger flitting through, the Doctor will do whatever it takes to protect those remaining and stop what is happening. In earlier lifetimes after losing two friends the Doctor took it hard, having to be reminded by River Song not to travel alone (as she knew that the Doctor was always better surrounded by friends). They also took the loss of Gallifrey hard, particularly with the pain that their own actions in the Time War had caused them and so many others. Even though, after their timestream crossed with past and (as then) present the Doctor did not Time Lock Gallifrey but hid it that uncertainty still caused guilt -- so many had died and so many more could have.

Though over her many lifetimes the Doctor has done questionable things, leaving a large body count in her wake, she is ultimately a good person. She tries to help and save people, never refusing a call for help even if it could be a trap -- if the possibility is there that someone could be in danger she'll try to help. Because of her power, because of her status as a Time Lord and being able to see all of history, understanding the many intricacies of space and time, the Doctor feels a sense of responsibility for the universe, watching over as much as she can in the protection of those that cannot protect themselves. She has specifically names herself the protector of many planets, including Earth, warning off aliens and invasions, defending and fighting where necessary. Though in her previous life the Doctor questioned whether or not they were a good person they realised that being the Doctor was more important than knowing whether they were good or not, that they did good actions, making certain to remind themselves upon regeneration to never be cowardly and to always be kind.

CRAU:

SPECIES: Gallifreyan ( Time Lord )
APPEARANCE: [1] [2] [3]
SKILLS:
GALLIFREYAN. Though the Doctor looks visibly human there are many aspects to her physiology that are incredibly different and inherantly 'alien'. She has an augmented lifespan, being over 2000 years and having essentially lived multiple lifetimes due to being able to regenerate. She also has a decreased need for food and sleep, a respiratory bypass system (allowing her to go long periods of time without breathing), enhanced senses (including being able to distinguish materials/etc through smell/taste), heightened reflexes and two hearts. Gallifreyans are also more durable, able to survive falls that would kill a human, exist in vacuums for a short period and even withstand the effects of radiation. Whilst more durable she can still succumb to mortal injuries, such as gunshots, as evidenced by how many lives the Doctor has had. She is also less affected by extreme temperatures, able to withstand heat and cold.
→ Gallifreyan abilities lost: telepathy, timey-wimey senses, omnilingualism, regeneration, healing (via regeneration energy)
LANGUAGES. Though the Doctor can normally translate/speak every language (barring those that are too basic or too complex to be translated) this is something she won't be able to do. Instead she will be limited to the languages that she has spent time learning, including: Gallifreyan (multiple languages), English, Judoon, Delphon, Chinese (multiple languages), Ancient North Martian, Venusian, Portuguese, Tritovore, Sycoraxic (non-fluent), Tiaanamat, French and could previously use British Sign Language.
INTELLECT. Over her many lifetimes, the Doctor has learned many skills, considering herself a doctor of just about everything (including a few ridiculous things). She is incredibly smart, often the smartest person in the room, with a near eidetic memory. Whilst the skills she uses most frequently are those that help her on her daily adventures the Doctor has been many things to many people. Some of her other skills/training include medicine, chemistry, cheesemaking, advanced physics, temporal sciences and engineering.
ENGINEER. One of her most frequently used skills, something that the Doctor has relied on time and again through her lifetimes, is her skills with engineering. This includes TARDIS maintenance, creating sonic screwdrivers out of scrap, and using/repairing/modifying alien technology, including technology that she's never encountered before. The Doctor is also skilled with using technology, such as turning a mobile phone into a scanning device and being able to quickly reprogram or build devices. She's also a skilled pilot, having flown the TARDIS for centuries (no matter what anyone says about her skills) and has used/flown/stopped crashing other spaceships previously.
COMBAT. Though she doesn't like weapons, preferring to use her intellect to get her out of any situation, she isn't defenceless. Trained in Venusian aikido, a nonlethal martial art, the Doctor is quick and capable in using it. In one of her lifetimes, she shrugged off the name Doctor, being known as a warrior in order to complete their part in the Time War, fighting, killing, and being prepared to end it all.
ESCAPING. As well as being able to come up with a plan on the spot to escape danger the Doctor also learned a few skills from Houdini, allowing her to escape confines and pick locks.

NEW POWER: Light generation
LIGHT GENERATION. Starting with her hands the Doctor will be able to generate light, almost making her hands glow, that will be able to light a small area/room. Eventually, she will discover that this light is dependent on her own mood -- brighter, light colours when she's happy and darker colours when she's sad.
POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT. Whilst initially she'll only be able to generate small amounts of light, development of her power will see her be able to almost create beams of light/a brighter light in order to light up a much larger space. Potentially (VERY far future development) this could extend to her creating a ball of light that she almost throws out from her hands to light a room, allowing her to move around the room without the light source moving.
POWER REASONING: Using light as a metaphor for hope. The Doctor is very hopeful, with a bubbly personality who tries to see the best in a situation/person and wants to believe (and for others to believe when danger is around) that everything will be alright. By being able to generate light she can push away some physical darkness as she would have pushed away mental darkness (uncertainty/fear) with her hopeful words.
